I grew up in the south of Poland amongst Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox churches. Icons have always been close to me and in 2012  I decided to learn how to paint them.

I studied in an orthodox church in Cracow for a few years.  I then decided to take online classes with professional iconographers and finished gilding course with a Masters from Moscow.

I am working full time and using my free time for painting.   I always prepare the boards myself with sanding gesso.

I am now based in Liverpool, UK.

Icons:

Mandylion    20 x 20cm    £300.00
Archangel Michael    30 x 24cm    £400.00
St Tatiana 30 x 24cm  (NFS)

The Mandylion is is one of my favourite images of Jesus Christ. It is painted in the egg tempera technique on a wooden panel board with 12 layers of gesso. I used 23.75 carat gold for the assist and halo.

My inspiration to paint this icon was from the 14th c. Archangel Michael icon in the Byzantine and Christian Museum, Athens. It is painted in the egg tempera technique on a wooden panel with 12 layers of gesso. I used 23.75 carat gold for the assist and halo.

St Tatiana – This icon is the result of a workshop with iconographer Anthony Gunin. I greatly admire his painting style and the impression it has on the viewer. It is painted in the  egg tempera technique on a wooden panel with 12 layers of gesso.  I used 23.75 carat gold for the assist and halo.
