I first became interested in icons whilst on holiday in Cyprus. As a result my wife bought me the book “How to Paint Icons” by Ramos Poquii.

Whilst trying to learn the technique I realised that I needed help and had some time with Ramos Poqui and later had tuition from Aidan Hart – who also gave me critiques of my work from time to time.

I have always had the need to paint but have never been able to express the wonder of God in nature with any satisfaction. In writing icons I feel an overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit during the prayerful meditation of the writing process.
